It took me a long time to learn that if I am looking to anyone else to make me feel whole, I am inviting trouble.
Eventually one of us will recognize the dependency that has developed between us and will have to pull away.
The other one will be left feeling abandoned and betrayed.
Each one of us has to find our wholeness within our Selves and then we can find joy in each other as we accompany one another on a shared journey.

And the simple mathematical sense of what you’ve written just “seems” so obvious.
If we are each “half” of the “whole” of a union…….what G-d intended occurs.
I we’re not wholly that “half”…….hmmmm
To thine own self be true, and search long and hard for the other half. They’re out there. We both know it.

Thanks for your comment, Wollf. The other thing we know is that none of us will be completely “whole” on our earth journey. We are all imperfect beings. But God works through our woundedness to bring healing – not only to ourselves – but to many others as well.
